New PayPal policy on holding funds?
I’m selling an item on eBay and needing the money from the sale as soon as possible to pay another bill coming due. I know that PayPal has a new policy on holding funds up to 21 days under certain conditions, although I believe they release funds earlier for eBay auctions when the buyer posts feedback comments for the seller and/or confirms that they received the item they bought. What I’m wondering is if funds being held by PayPal can be applied toward other purchases made through PayPal or if the funds are inaccessible until further notice. I can pay a couple bills by PayPal and use the money I’ve set aside for those bills to pay for other items if the funds from the eBay sale are available for other PayPal purchases. Or am I just out of luck until PayPal releases the funds outright? The bills I can pay through PayPal, if the funds are immediately available, are for hosting costs on a couple of my websites. Or am I just going to have to wait?
You’re out of luck.
Any funds that Paypal has not released to your Paypal account cannot be used.
You’ll just have to wait until the funds clear.
