Gift certificates are a very common item sold in a charity auction. Companies that donate to see the benefits of marketing your business and get customers in the door. There are many ways to sell the certificates in their charity auction and may well sell for more than the face value of certificates.

When gift certificates are placed in the silent auction, which tend to be sold at or below face value. Many guests find "deals" in the auction silent. If they see a certificate that goes below the value you offer at least until the real value is reached. It has a particular value that is only makes sense. Many sell warrants Gift for 60-70% of their real value. Sometimes, even in the live auction can be difficult to exceed the nominal value.

So how can you get full advantage of the gift certificates? Here are some ideas to get started.

You may try putting together similar licenses. For example, if you have several gift cards for gasoline, sold as a single element. It will be easier to get at least face value, if there is only one element of that type to bid on. Or, if you have more than one certificate for the same company, try to sell the first at least face value and then ask the winner if they would like the rest by the same amount each. A group of restaurant gift cards can be grouped and labeled.

There are also packages that can be created with different types of gift certificates. A Night on the Town "package could include a movie, dinner, and the certificate of ice cream. A "Pamper Yourself" package could include a haircut, massage and beauty salon. There are so many different creative ways to package them. Bidders may be less interested in one of the certificates in the package, but if sold together, they still want the whole package.

Professional auctioneers benefits are many fun ways to sell gift certificates. Be sure to ask the auctioneer what he recommends.
