Please explain how to change an incorrect price insurance on Ebay / Paypal Checkout?

I just won an auction on Ebay today. But when I went to PayPal box, I realized that the price for USPS shipping insurance was $ 17.00 which is quite high. I stopped before making payment and contact the seller. He said he is supposed to be $ 1.70. Now he is trying to find a way to change it. But he can not find anything useful in the Help section of eBay. Does anyone know what to do?

You can send a payment to your Paypal address in the correct amount and that the auction can make payment. eBay does not care if you use the buttons to transact or not. While neither party complains that you can drive off of eBay. I really do not think it can be determined from the sale.
