Tampa, Florida, is the Cookson Hills Toy Run is a scam?
By Michelle Burgess
Scam? One woman said Sheri Brown as he was leaving the shirts and photos of the event … my friends said that I just lost my money, it's a scam. I tell you say it is not so … for 16 years, the Cookson Hills Toy Run has provided toys and goodwill to the children of eastern Hillsborough County. They help some of the charities of the community, sharing the generosity of those who attended the auction and raffles. "The Cookson Hills Toy Run is about children," said Sheri Brown, who started the event with her husband, Bill Brown in 1993.
The event begins 1st Sunday of December at the Veteran's Memorial Park, located on U.S. highway 3602. 301 N. Tampa, Florida, at 10 AM, a silent auction from 10:30 to 12:30 p.m. and "running the country", leaving at 1 PM. Then the fun begins at 2 pm with the arrival of motorcycles and vehicles at Evans Park, located at 1104 N. Kingsway Road, Seffner, Florida. The "gift unwrapping ceremony" takes place at 2:30 PM. Children not only receive gifts, but also they and one parents or guardians also provided a free food and drink. "Every year, Bill and I are amazed at how it engages the community" Brown said. This year, the event proceeds going to the emergency care Aid Organization (ECHO), Brandon Medical Center and back to the schools in the area. Thank you all once again for a fantastic event 2009, "said the Browns.
