ebay how to close auction
Extending auction on Ebay?

If I was to post an item on ebay and the final bid on it was only $4.00 and I was expecting close to $100 do I have to send the item or can I extend the auction?
Never used EBay before and I was just wondering how it works if you don’t get as much as you expected…
Like I said I’ve never used EBay before this was just a hypothetical question because I was thinking about selling my chocolate phone on there and I didn’t want to only get 5 dollars or something for it.

You have different options — as long as there remains 12 hours before the auction ends. If you only have 12 hours or less you cannot cancel or extend the auction

You can:

- extend the auction, but form $4 to $100 is quite a long stretch, and if you have little watchers to your auction, chances are it may not move much

- or you can cancel your listing. Read the instructions on Ending Your Listing Early http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/end_early.html — note that your account will still be charged listing fees but you wouldn’t be forced to sell it at such a low price. You’ll have unhappy bidders, though

But if you already have a bid, you have to cancel the bids first before you can end the listing early
