Ebay Store Vs Auction
Difference between USPS Money Order vs money Order you get from a currency exchange/grocery store/gas station?
I’ve been watching a few items on ebay recently and plan make payment with a money order if I win an auction (I do not wish to pay with Paypal). Some of the sellers will only accept a Postal Money Order. What is the difference between a money order you get from the post office vs the gas station/grocery store/currency exchange?
The biggest practical difference is that a postal money order is a lot harder to counterfeit. Not that it can’t be done, it’s just a lot harder than forging a money order from your local 7-11.
There are other smaller differences like the fees different institutions will charge for the money order, but the extra protection from fraudulent payments if probably what your eBay sellers are most interested in.
