Ebay View Ended Auctions
What is the optimum eBay auction length? Plus any tips?
Does anyone have any stats on the optimum length an auction should run on eBay? I always thought that the longest time i.e. 10 days was best but wondered if that was the truth. Also if there is a best day to list? Again I thought list on Thursday run for 10 days as then you have covered 2 weekends when people probably view more as they are at home, and also the auction will end on a Sunday night when more people are online. I may be wrong but I am interested in other peoples views. Any other tips like is featured worth it or highlighting as they all cost more but do they get the returns? Does adding backgrounds work? Best words to include or exclude when advertising etc. EBay makes a fortune so would like to maximise the return I get from items I am selling!!! Thanks for all your help.
BTW I use 10 days as an example as I think more people have time to view it. I have never had to pay for this it has been a free option.
I have tried 3, 7, and 10 day listings and have not seen a marked difference. I suppose for high dollar items the longer exposure might be of value but for the lower dollar items that I sell I think 3 days is good. I find that with the longer auctions the item just gets burried and shows little or no action until the last day or two, anyway. I close my auctions on Sunday or Monday evenings…never on Saturday. I got a lot of my ebay information from a free ebay sales kit that is available at http://smart-money-help.com/free-ebay-kit . The information has been around for awhile but there is some really good stuff there and it also includes resources for locating products to sell on ebay. You might want to check it out.
