Is it possible to protest against a "salvage title" in a vehicle in California, if it's only Theft Recovery?

Hello I just bought a dirtbike that is street legal, it was a theft recovery that I bought at an auction, I know in my home state of Washington, a person may go to the department. of licensing and protest to get a clear title in a theft recovery, provided it was never wrecked. Is this possible in California????

You can not "protest", but you can try to get a normal diploma awarded. DMV would have the procedural information.
